Carolina Aero Marine Adventures Fishing Reports
June 23, 2011
Fishing both inshore and nearshore have been very good lately and should stay that way through the rest of the summer.
Inshore trips have consited of both redfish and speckled trout being caught on topwaters early in the morning and various artificials and bait once the sun gets higher in the sky. During high tides at first light we have been catching mostly speckled trout with a few redfish mixed in on topwater plugs such as rapala skitterwalks and zara spooks. During early morning low tides we have been targeting schools of redfish feeding in less than two feet of water which has provided some really exciting action.
As far as nearshore goes we have been catching amberjack and cobia consistantly strictly sightfishing. The cobia run is winding down but a few are still being caught off some of the nearshore reefs up to 15 miles out. The sightfishing has been very exciting, watching hungry schools of 25-60lb amberjack eating baits right at the back of the boat has been nothing short of awesome.
The big redfish and sharks have shown up in the harbor in big numbers, which generally provides very consistant action.
Stay tuned as we update our website. We will be adding monthly fishing reports, tips, and much, much more. Thanks for stopping by.
