Carolina Aero Marine Adventures Fishing Tips                    Late Winter 2007
Warmer Weather and Water - Both the weather and the fishing should begin to get
better as the month of March progresses.  As far as redfish go, with the warmer days the
water temperature has already begun rising which is increasing activity and willingness to
feed.  The fish are beginning to chase baits a little better and will continue to get more
aggressive as the water continues to warm.

The large schools that have been spending time on the flats will begin to break into
smaller groups and spread out.  Stick with the same baits that you have been throwing to
them all winter but as the fish become more aggressive you will be able to work the baits
faster instead of at the snails pace we were forced to work them when the water was
colder.  Various baits such as gulp shrimp and crab imitations, grubs, and soft plastic jerk
baits should continue to produce.

The trout bite is also slowly but surely starting to pick up.  Trout will be caught in the
deeper water, however should become more aggressive as the water warms up further.
Fish the bends in the creeks, deep holes, and drop offs with grubs or shrimp imitations
slow and on the bottom.

Warmer weather and water are on their way so hang in there.
